Century City vs Santa Monica vs Brentwood for Executive Housing
A three-way guide for executives choosing Century City, Santa Monica, or Brentwood as a Westside base.

I. These three names cover most Westside executive briefs
Century City, Santa Monica, and Brentwood are the shortlist behind a huge share of Westside executive searches. They are not tiers of the same product. Each one wins a different week.
If your office is in Culver City, UCLA, or at LAX, this comparison is the wrong starting point. Use the guide for that door instead of forcing one of these three.
II. How to choose among them
Pick Century City when the meetings are the life and a building with parking is a relief. Pick Santa Monica when the office is in Santa Monica and you want to live in that city. Pick Brentwood when the household wants a residential street and can design the drive.
Most regrets come from choosing the prestigious name that fights the calendar. A Brentwood house for a five-day Santa Monica job, or a pier-adjacent condo for a partner who hates crowds, fails quickly.
- Century City: towers, Avenue of the Stars, legal and finance weeks, lock-and-leave travel. Weak for families who need a yard.
- Santa Monica: Silicon Beach offices, coastal routines, North of Montana quiet versus downtown bustle. Weak as a daily Century City base.
- Brentwood: houses, quieter nights, hybrid schedules, access to both of the others off peak. Weak for people who will not drive.
- A split between Century City and Santa Monica often belongs in Sawtelle or Westwood, not in an average of the two reputations.
- Privacy can be solved in all three. It is a process and a building or house rule, not a neighborhood trophy.

III. Furnishing and timing follow the choice
Century City and many Santa Monica stays can be buildings with faster readiness. Brentwood houses take longer to furnish and to staff with a maintenance path. The calendar has to respect that.
Ask for extension terms in the winner you pick. The second choice can stay as a backup without running two full tours.
IV. Bring the decision to a quote, not to a public listing
Send Debby the office address, the days, the household, and which of the three you would refuse. She comes back with a shortlist for that brief, and quotes the stay against those options.
Refusing one is progress. A search that still includes all three after the commute is known is not ready.
Frequently
Considered
Common inquiries tied to relocation fit, executive comfort, and the details clients usually want clarified before they commit to a direction.
Which of the three is most executive?
None by default. Century City is the most frictionless for a meeting-heavy solo week. Brentwood is the most residential. Santa Monica is the most tied to a coastal office. Executive is the fit to the week.
Can we tour all three in one day?
You can, and you will mostly learn what traffic feels like. Narrow to two with the commute rule first. The third can stay as a written backup.
What if we want a house inside Century City's orbit?
Look at Cheviot Hills, Rancho Park, or the Beverly Hills flats, and keep Century City as the office rather than as the only housing type. Brentwood is the house answer farther west.
